Wow, April is officially here. When spring arrives, most of us are ready for shorts, sandals, and sundresses. I say that spring is also a time to reinvigorate and revamp your bath and shower routine. I keep coming across all of these really great smelling bath-time concoctions, so I figured that I would share my “have’s” and “want’s”.

Shaving gel in a can has gone by the way side. The replacements are sweet smelling shaving creams and lotions. Davies Gate brings you their Sugar Plum Warming Shave Cream. The warming feature helps your pores to open, so you get the closest shave possible. Plus, it’s extra moisturizing which may allow you to skip the lotion afterwards. If $20 exceeds your budget for shaving essentials, then go to Trader Joe’s and pick up their Honey Mango Shave Cream. Equally moisturizing minus the warming effect. This is my personal fave and you can’t beat the price of $2.99.

Looking for an indulgent body wash? Then look no further than John Masters Blood Orange & Vanilla Body Wash. The intense foamy lather that it creates is especially surprising considering it’s sulfate free. Good for you, good for the environment. Looking for a cheaper alternative, check out Dove’s new *go fresh* energizing line of products. The bright yellow packaging cheers you up in an instant. The beauty bar is a favorite in our household. It contains little beads to exfoliate and the fragrance is a wonderful combination of grapefruit and lemongrass.

CVS has really stepped up it’s line of hair care products and they now sell Organix. I’ve already enjoyed their Vanilla Silk and Coconut Milk varieties, and I’m looking forward to trying two of their 2008 scents: Mocha Espresso and Pomegranate Green Tea. You should also note that some of their products are exclusively sold at Walmart and Target. When it comes to conditioning my hair, I’ve been a loyal consumer of one product: Origins Knot Free Finishing Rinse. For the hair in our household, nothing else can compare. It keeps hair tangle free without weighing it down, and did I mention that it smells like fresh picked peaches?

Body moisturizers seem to be going the way of body mousses (wow, that looks weird in plural form) and body butters. Oil of Olay has a new product line called Quench Mousse. Bath and Body Works has a complete line of body butters as does The Body Shop. If more natural ingredients appeal to you, then you can take a look at Korres body butters.

So take the time to look at your current bath and/or shower routine and make a few changes. April showers outside may be a drag, but they shouldn’t have to be that way inside!
