Gingerbread Houses 2008 December 3, 2008

gingerbread-08We got together with Casey’s family to decorate gingerbread houses last Friday morning. It is an annual tradition in which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed taking part. It’s always fun to see everyone’s creativity…and competitive nature. This year was especially nice because instead of decorating our houses after stuffing ourselves like the Thanksgiving turkey, we waited until the following morning when everyone (kids included) was feeling refreshed and the creative juices were flowing. It was the most candy Casey and I have ever used on our house. In contrast to the coffee bean roof of 2007, we used Fruit Stripe gum this year….extremely colorful with a wonderfully fruity fragrance, yet still loses it’s flavor after about 25 seconds. Of course, we sampled the gum. When’s the last time you had a piece of Fruit Stripe?! You can see video footage of the 2008 Gingerbread Collection here and the Moore Cottage here.

I always love seeing your Gingerbread House! I think back to that first one you brought back to our dorm room, and how we had to fend off those who wanted to eat it 🙂 Oh, and I can’t remember the last time I tried Fruit Stripe gum, but I remember the fruitiness quite well.
